Healing Music Academy in back in session
We all know that music affects us powerfully, but
do YOU know how that works? Music can calm, soothe, comfort or
it can energize, electrify, and rejuvenate. I have been teaching
music, piano, and music healing since 1965! I love to teach and
I love to learn. When Healing Music Enterprises opened its doors
and started its website in 1998, one of the first things I did was to
begin creating courses that people could take either in our offices in
Louisville, KY or online by way of e-courses. Hundreds of people
have signed up for these courses on "Music and the Mind-Body
Connection," "Toning and Chanting," "Using Music with the
Alzheimer's Patients" and many more.
This Fall I have started a new series entitled "Music Healing 101," in
which I go into the basics of how to use the music you already know
for healing purposes. The class meets every Sunday afternoon at
4:00-5:30 at 2720 Frankfort Avenue. Tuition for each class is
just $25.00 and hand-outs are provided. I will also be adding
new course content to the Academy page at
www.HealingMusicEnterprises.com/classes.html. Hope to see
you there! |

University Hospital in Louisville, KY welcomes "Music as an Adjunct to Anesthesia"
Getting the word out about music's power during surgery is one of my lifelong missions. Many people have now used my headphones during surgery and given them rave reviews
This past Monday I had a golden
opportunity to present to a room full of anesthesiologists and
anesthesia residents about "Music as an Adjunct to Anesthesia."
I presented my own research first, along with a few case studies,
then I presented 10 studies from medical journals that are highly
respected from around the world. I hope you'll take a look at
my PowerPoint and give me your feedback?

Healing Music Enterprises welcomes a new music associate
I am pleased to announce the addition to our company of a new music associate. She will be assisting me in teaching classes at our local offices as well as doing some traveling with me around the country to teach and play healing music concerts with me. She has been a member of the Louisville Orchestra for over 31 years and is convinced that music has healing powers far beyond what most people realize. Her specialty right now is the emerging field of "Cymatics." She and I will be attending a conference on cymatics in Atlanta in a few weeks (October 15-17) and will be doing a presentation there on Monday morning, October 17th. If you live in Atlanta and would like to attend, just contact me through the website. See you next month!! Alice Cash |

About Alice Cash | |||||||||
For nearly two decades, I've been helping people use the music that
they already love to heal their lives and increase their wellness
quotient!
I
am one of the world's only clinical musicologists and hold
Bachelors and Masters degrees in piano performance, a Ph.D. in
musicology and a Master of Social Work in clinical social work. I
am also a licensed clinical social worker. I work with people and
diagnoses of all kinds, enabling them to find healing, acceptance and
hope. Many people assume that I am a music therapist but I am not. I was trained originally as a concert pianist, then as a musicologist, then as a clinical social worker. I love performing, researching, and teaching and have put them all together in a career called "Music Medicine." However, the field of music therapy is much better known and has degree programs and credentialing that is very valuable and important. To hear me speak, and watch me in action "is to have a day that will amaze, educate, motivate, and inspire you!"
