A
Message
From Dr. Alice Cash |
This has been the most outstanding year
yet for Healing Music Enterprises. My readers and customers have
heard me speak from coast to coast and learned about "Toning and
Chanting" in San Diego, "Music with Pregnancy and Preemies" in NYC,
"Music and the Babyboomers" in Atlanta area, "The Healing Power of
Music" at Clemson University and "Music with Surgery" in all of these
places and more! HME came out with a DVD presentation of "The
Healing Power of Music" and a brand-new Christmas CD to complement the
"Lullaby" CD, the "Music for Memory Care CD" and the "Healing Music
Sampler."
Nearly all of my products are now
available in downloadable format as well as hardcopy! A few are
available only in digital version which you can transfer to you iPod
or MP3 player immediately.
I am so grateful for your trust, your
confidence and your support. My goals for 2008 include creating
a CD called "Classical Serenity" with me on the concert grand playing
piano classics that can be used for insomnia, surgery, anxiety and
many other settings. I'm also hoping to get the patent on my
invention for providing music for surgery. Still can't say too
much about that per my lawyers! I'd like to produce a
teleseminar for my readers as well as a webinar. Please let me
know what YOU'D like to see (and hear!) in 2008. |

Healing
Music Academy |
Have you thought about all that you
learn from an e-course at Healing Music Academy? People online are discovering the
e-courses available through the Academy and clamoring for more! Each course is
divided into 5 emailed lessons and include "Music with Pregnancy and
Preemies," "Music with Surgery" "Toning and Chanting as a Tool
for Addiction Recovery" and many more. Because I am
constantly updating the courses and adding new material, tuition will
likely go up in April. While they're still only $47 per course,
go NOW to
http://www.healingmusicenterprises.com/classes.html and try one
out. If there's a class you'd like that's not listed, just let
me know and I'll put one together for you or your organization! I also offer these classes live at the headquarters on Frankfort
Avenue in Louisville. I can come to your business or agency and
teach these classes if you get a minimum of 10 people to sign up.
Whether you live in Louisville, Nashville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis,
or Timbuktu, let me know and I'll travel to you!
The basic concepts of using music for healing purposes are not
difficult and if you are already a health-care provider they are very
easy to learn and put to use in your work setting. If you are a
caregiver for a family member or are just wanting to learn more about
how to put music to work for you, these courses are perfect for you! |

Brain
surgery, hip-hop music and seizures |
A fascinating story appeared in the news
this week. It seems that a 25 year-old Canadian woman, diagnosed
with epilepsy four years previously, was suffering as many as 10
grand-mal seizures a day. Even though she was being treated with
the proper seizure medications, she continues to suffer from a rare
condition known as "musicogenic epilepsy."
Eighteen months ago, Gayle began to suspect that a song by reggae
and hip-hop artist Sean Paul was triggering some of her seizures.
She recalls being at a barbecue and collapsing when the Jamaican
rapper's music started playing, and then remembered having a previous
seizure when she heard that song.
"Being that the seizures could be triggered by the music, this was
a very interesting opportunity to study Stacey's brain," Dr. Ashesh
Mehta, director of epilepsy surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical
Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, said in a statement.
Michelle Pinto, a spokeswoman for the hospital, told The Canadian
Press there are probably only about 100 such cases worldwide and
doctors believe this is only the fifth case to go to surgery. |
