Since Alice began speaking
professionally in 1990, she has done hundreds of programs on Music
Healing around the world. She has now received the highest honor
that that Kentucky Speakers Association gives and has been
recognized by her peers as a leader in this field. Since Alice
attended the Cancun University in January and presented her exciting
concept for an innovative invention for use by hospitals and clinics
around the world, she has been getting attention from media outlets
and requests to speak in ever-widening areas. Alice will announce
this invention as soon as the patent is in place…we’re working on

New Look for Ezine!
Healing Music Enterprises is making BIG Changes! |
In an effort to offer the most
up-to-date information and research on healing music, we are
preparing to implement individual mini-sites for each specialty area
of music and healing. The whole mission of Healing Music Enterprises
is to educate and inform the general public and health care
professionals about the ways music can be used for healing, calming,
and soothing purposes. We also look at how music is used in our
world today for bonding people together, whether it be parent and
child, husband and wife,
or members of civic, educational, or alumni groups. We delve into
music with surgery,
before, during and after; we seek new ways to create a spiritual
bond with music. This is an ancient field but new ideas and new
concepts are constantly being explored.
Because we understand that different people have different ways of
learning, it is intention to present all information in a variety of
formats. The first specialty mini-site will be devoted to Music and
the Alzheimer's patient. I will be conducting a free teleseminar on
July 18th. If you’re interested in being on this call please click
here. The teleseminar will last one hour and I invite you to e-mail
me with your questions re: any aspect of music with Alzheimer’s
patients.
In August the teleseminar will be Music During Pregnancy and
Childbirth. Over the Fall we’ll learn about Music and Surgery, Music
and Depression, Toning and Chanting, Coping with Holiday Stress

Playing any instrument or singing is always preferable to passive
listening in terms of health benefits. It takes no prior training to
play many drums and other percussion instruments for fun and
enjoyment. If you’re interested in trying a small steel drum, a
thumb piano, or a recorder, try an instrument from

Summer Fun for the Whole Family-with Music, of course! |
Many times you’ve heard me say “tune your life with music”! Is
there anything in particular that keeps you from really getting out
there and singing or playing an instrument with friends and family?
Are you fearful that someone might judge you and think you silly? We
are a self-conscious nation. We all live with judgmental people who are sure
their way is the right way.
Well, when it comes to making music for fun and healing, there
really is no “right way,” so relax and get started. If you truly
have no experience, you could just start out humming in the shower
or in the car when you’re alone…just to get used to the sound of
your own voice. After that, move on to singing with some kids who
are young ( ages 1-3) and will just be happy for attention. I’m sure
you know some silly or fun songs, like “The Wheels on the Bus,” or
“Jingle Bells.” It doesn’t matter what season or what weather, just
sing something. After that, move on to some rhythm. It doesn’t have
to be store-bought, just find a pot and a wooden spoon and start
beating it in time to the music you’re singing or listening to.
Home-made instruments are often the most fun and can be a bonding
experience with your kids and their friends.
If you’ve always wanted to take lessons on something, why not
start this summer. Oftentimes you can rent instruments and buy an
adult beginner book to try it out alone if you want. There are also
lots of videos that can teach you to play. My site includes some
free e-mailed piano lessons that I think are wonderful!
